From Dream Car to Soul Dreams

IMG-0853.JPG

A Jeep was my dream car for like ten years. I bought it right after I got my first job after business school

I sold this same car a year and a half ago when I decided to trade in my dream car and the corporate world to take a chance and pursue my soul dreams.

Instead I bought a 2005 Toyota that I paid in full with just a few thousand dollars. Why? Because I didn’t want to use a car payment as an excuse for why I didn’t take a chance on myself.

A car depreciates but the investment in myself and my growth appreciates.

I recently moved in part to lower my rent, I have an old iphone lol, and I limit my spending on clothes or expensive pampering so that I can pursue my projects AND invest in things like a therapist, a financial advisor, and a voice coach (not singing).

It took me a while to learn this but there are real limitations AND also imaginary limitations that we have the power to change to really get what we want BUT we have to be willing to prioritize investing in ourselves. We also have to be willing to rewrite what success means to us. I don’t have a pretty car but I am gaining leadership skills, healing, and cultivating healthier relationships. I choose that type of success.
